On Wednesday, October 22, and Thursday, October 23, 2025, the third annual BESAFE Conference will gather global leaders at the forefront of the fight against substandard and falsified medical products (SFMPs). Held at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C., this high-impact event will convene regulators, public health experts, healthcare providers, policymakers, academic researchers, and pharmaceutical industry leaders to confront the growing public health crisis posed by SF medicines.
Over two dynamic days, participants will explore emerging threats, share cutting-edge research, and engage in practical discussions on strategies to detect, prevent, and respond to the circulation of poor-quality medical products. The agenda features moderated panels, flash presentations, and networking opportunities designed to foster cross-sector collaboration and drive collective action.
The Conference is hosted by BESAFE, Behavioral and Educational Strategies for Avoiding Falsified Medicine Exposure, a pioneering initiative based at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Funded by Pfizer and supported by a growing network of partners, BESAFE develops innovative educational tools, conducts provider training and research, and leads public engagement efforts to improve the detection and reporting of SF medicines. Through national provider surveys and educational interventions, the initiative aims to empower healthcare professionals with the knowledge and resources needed to protect patients and communities.
The 2025 BESAFE Conference promises to be an essential gathering for those committed to strengthening medicine quality and safeguarding public health worldwide.
